Harrisburg Security, Inc. was founded in 2005, by Owner and Company President Andrew Ives. We are licensed by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board and are a fully insured North Carolina Corporation.

Private, contract security is one of the fastest growing and largest fields of service in the world and we believe we are at the apex of the industry. We have been here for over two decades, and we still strive to be the best this industry has to offer!

OWNER & PRESIDENT / CHIEF OF SECURITY

  • Originally from Buffalo, New York, Chief Ives relocated to North Carolina in 1997 and has built a distinguished career in public safety, law enforcement, and private security leadership.
  • Earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Buffalo State College.
  • Served as a Police Officer with UNC Charlotte for four years, gaining valuable experience in campus law enforcement and public safety.
  • Worked for six years as a Security Officer and Youth Counselor at Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center, focusing on security operations and youth development.
  • Served as a First Lieutenant in the Military Police Corps of the North Carolina National Guard.
Proud Veteran of the United States Army, bringing military leadership and security expertise to his professional career.
  • Founded Harrisburg Security, Inc. (H.S.I.) in 2005, establishing the company on the core values of professionalism, integrity, and dependable protection.

OFFICE MANAGER

  • Originally from Fairfax County, Virginia, Mr. Lile relocated to the Charlotte, North Carolina area in 2002.

  • Has more than 20 years of experience in the private security industry, with a strong background in operations, compliance, and leadership.

  • Joined the Harrisburg Security, Inc. (H.S.I.) main office in 2013, bringing extensive operational and administrative expertise to the organization.

  • Served as a Compliance Agent and Notary with G4S, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • Held the position of Lieutenant with Securitas, providing leadership and oversight for security personnel and operations.

  • Maintains a strong commitment to professionalism, accountability, and delivering exceptional service to clients.

  • Continues to support H.S.I.'s mission through effective leadership, operational excellence, and dedication to quality security solutions.

STEPHEN Thomas

WATCH COMMANDER / LIEUTENANT

  • North Carolina native with more than 20 years of experience in the private security industry.

  • Began his security career as an Armed Security Officer in 2002, gaining extensive hands-on experience in the field.

  • Joined Harrisburg Security, Inc. (H.S.I.) in 2006 and has been a valued member of the organization ever since.

  • Brings extensive operational knowledge and field experience to security assignments and client engagements.

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and dependable security services.

  • Dedicated to protecting clients, property, and assets through vigilant and reliable security practices.

  • North Carolina native and proud Veteran of the United States Air Force.

  • Brings more than 30 years of experience in the private security industry.

  • Joined Harrisburg Security, Inc. (H.S.I.) in 2005, contributing extensive leadership and security management expertise.

  • Served as Senior District Manager with Security Forces, Inc., overseeing security operations and personnel management.

  • Held the position of Chief of Security at Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center, leading security programs and ensuring a safe environment.

  • Possesses extensive experience in security operations, workforce supervision, and organizational leadership.

  • Demonstrates a long-standing commitment to professionalism, safety, operational effectiveness, and exceptional client service.

Joseph Rhodes

ACCOUNT MANAGER / LIEUTENANT

  • Originally from East Orange, New Jersey, Lt. Rhodes has been a North Carolina resident since 2006.

  • Brings extensive leadership, operational, and security experience to Harrisburg Security, Inc. (H.S.I.).

  • Joined H.S.I. in 2023 as an Armed Security Officer, demonstrating professionalism and a strong commitment to client service.

  • Promoted to Account Manager in 2025 in recognition of his leadership abilities and operational expertise.

  • Proudly served in the United States Navy from 1983 to 1987, gaining valuable military experience and discipline.

  • Holds a bachelor's degree in project management, providing a strong foundation in planning, organization, and operational leadership.

  • Possesses significant experience in team leadership, client relations, and security operations management.

  • Dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and service excellence.
